Lessons of Living in NYC

I just got back to NYC from a six day vacay in NC, which was fabulous. Paige is now with me, so the summer should be...interesting.

The first thing that happens when I walk into my apartment is Paige going into the bathroom and exclaiming "Moths!" There are like twenty moths in my bathroom. I did some research and it turns out these little buggers are drain flies and there's probably a whole nest of them in my shower drain. I need to clean out the drain, fill it with some Draino, and if that doesn't work, I have to buy some legit bug killer drain stuff.

Living in NYC is teaching me all about urban bug life and overall apartment maintenance.  I'm grateful for all these lessons (how to effectively kill cockroaches, how to fix a toilet, finding the best lightbulb, etc), but sometimes....I don't want to be the one who always has to deal with it. There is rarely a moment that I seriously want a man in my life, but having someone to take care of this issue sounds lovely. Oh! They're called exterminators, never mind, back to being independent. But I intend on killing these suckers on my own, mano a mano...or rather mano a motho.

  1. Isn't this something your man Winston should handle? It was good to have the house full again btw
