Hi there, my face here...
You guys, grammar is the worst. Like what the freak is a gerund? (It's technically a verb that's a noun, what?)
So highlights of the week:
1. I found an okay running route, the problem is I have to either go at 8:00 at night or 5:30 in the morning. Jess went running at the same time as me, but she left like maybe ten minutes before. I get home and she's like "I ran until the river ended! I have no idea where I went!" The river is 250k, so no, it didn't end. I asked if she crossed a bridge and she insisted she didn't. Cut to the next day when we're walking to the grocery store and she's like "ooo! I turned there!" She points to the Ponte Vecchio. Florence's oldest bridge.
Me: so you did go over a bridge.
Jess: no! I went down this street!
Me: that's a bridge
Jess: no!
I make her walk across and pointed to the water on both sides.
Jess: oh, this makes a lot of sense now.
I'm still wondering how she got home.
2. Remember how my Colombian guy slept with that Swiss girl? Well, the other night he comes home with a girl and he's like "guys, meet my girlfriend!" It was not the Swiss girl. It was a girl from back home or something. Shady.
3. Cinqueterre - Jess and I went to Cinqueterre today and it was a lot of fun. Our tour guide was quirky - kept making jokes about his wife. On the bus he sang us to sleep by singing twinkle twinkle (quite beautifully actually), and then he said I'm going to "sex relax you guys" I don't know if he knew what he was saying or if he knew perfectly what he was saying.
The water is so blue
This is from the dock before going down to our boat.
We got to go by boat between the cities.
Cinqueterre is known for their pesto and focaccia.
The beaches in Italy are a lot better and way more refreshing than NC. I am still a jellybean.
This is where I'd like to spend my yacht rock holiday.
This is a panorama from the top of a castle.
I'm kinda dreading school on Monday. It's so much work. But, I do like what I'm doing, it's definitely a challenge, but I think developing this teaching skill will be really helpful in a lot of ways.
I also feel really lucky that I get to be in such a pretty city. I've really started to enjoy myself. AND THE GUY AT THE PIZZA PLACE ON MY STREET SAID I HAD GOOD ITALIAN PRONUNCIATION. Oh yeah, and I managed to ask for a box in Italian at the post office, only to be told they don't sell them, go to the book store. All of which was in Italian. Progress. I've started to watch movies dubbed in Italian as well. There's this cute one on Netflix that's originally a French film called Populaire. I recommend.
