To catch everyone up, I looked through my phone and this has been my life in pictures/short anecdotes. My colloquium is next week, so after that I should be better about this...
For your patience - if anyone is still with me - here is a quality throwback picture.
Now let's review:
In July I went to California - it was the best! Sophia is the cutest and most loving little girl. She was my little warden - I couldn't go anywhere without her knowing/following. In California I got to try the Wendy's pretzel burger - which is quite possibly better than Doritos Locos, the poptart ice cream sandwich, and Slater's PB&J burger. We also made salsa at Debbie's which would have been great, if it weren't for those onions. I was crying like I was watching Mr. Krueger's Christmas.
Jason and I went to Dunwell Donuts - quite possibly the best donuts I've had yet. Those flavors are Pistachio and Tangerine. Weirdly, I've been finding myself in Brooklyn more and more. I can't decide if that's a good or bad thing.
After this I had a German exchange student for eleven days. She was super nice, and her English mix ups were my favorite. And it only took me a few minutes to realize "Wheatmans" meant Vitamins...
I finally tried Momofuku milk bar! From L to R grasshopper pie, candy bar pie, and crack pie. SO GOOD. Turns out I actually live a few blocks away from one of the locations.
I went home for two weeks in August - which was lovely. Hailey turned nine (yeah - NINE) and she got this eraser making kit. Hailey and I had quality bonding time. At one point we had a kitchen dance party - she told me she couldn't dance like me. Me: I dance kinda inappropriate, huh? Her: Yeah...
Artsy cellphone short of Maigan. The light at the end of the tunnel...
I think we went to cheesecake factory twice when I was home - because, clearly I am a glutton. The eye of Sauron watching Bryan.
First day back to NYC was the US Open. I saw Nadal beat Kohlschreiber. It was fantastic.
Paige, Jeff, Julia, and I trekked it out to Staten Island for the Greek Festival. I can't even describe how quality the food was. Here is the picture of the glowing loukoumades. They had Greek dancers perform by Yia Yia's Attic. It was hilarious - so there are these boys that range from the ages of like 12-15 and when they do their solo dances their moms or dads would come up behind them and "make it rain" with dollar bills. Hilariously uncomfortable.
Smorgasburg part deux. This is a brownie brittle ice cream sandwich from "The Good Batch." The stand was run by a young couple and the tip jar was for an engagement ring. Tender.
Starting my final semester of school, I'm kinda freaking out. Normally I channel my anxiety into trying to change my body, this time around I decided to change my apartment. So I bought new curtains, rug, book shelf, bedding, etc and did a feng shui on my apartment. It looks SO GOOD. I decided to improve the bathroom. Our shower is a stall, so I bought a shelf for shampoo, because normally it's on the ground and then the bottles get moldy, and if the drain isn't working bottles are just floating by your feet. It's super sad. So I bought this tension shelf - the problem? Our ceiling is too high. Julia and I obviously cannot have nice things. We're using a coke soccer cup to add tension - which unfortunately means the shelf juts out even more. Basically the shelf now takes up half the shower. We're cute.
This semester is basically me being "an artist." I'm taking acting, photography, writing for late night, writing the original sitcom, and TV nation. All amazing classes, but I am clearly NOT an artist. My first photography assignment is photograms - which is putting objects on photo paper and exposing the paper to light. I decided to do a storybook theme because I'm completely unoriginal. I have a series of 8 photos, here are some of them...
Eloise
Nancy Drew
Mary Poppins
Alice in Wonderland
So yeah. This weekend I'm going to Florida - wahoo - and next week I'm doing my colloquium.
