The "Great Plunger Run" is becoming an annual thing.
Last year after a fireside Julia and I's Dollhouse apartment experienced some flash flooding with the toilet which resulted in a wild scavenger hunt across Chelsea in search of a plunger and industrial strength paper towels. We even considered bribing a Starbucks barista. We finally found a plunger at the Herald Square Kmart - ten minutes to closing time.
That was 2012.
Fast forward to 2013.
Julia has moved in to the UES apartment and we're watching Honey Boo Boo mocking them. Our toilet started acting up, so I tried adding water, flushing in long intervals...the usual. Julia takes a crack at it, flushes, water rises dangerously, and then pulls the plug in the toilet, which resulted into massive flooding. No boxed feminine hygiene product on the floor was safe. There were casualties.
It's 10:34pm and we go on another plunger run. Luckily the 24 hour Duane Reade has everything. And I started wielding the plunger around the store like a pointer, or a Mary Poppins umbrella.
I wonder what the lady at checkout thought when we were purchasing a mop and plunger...
The wet floor
Julia's mopping method. And trying to save my hair dryer by putting it in the sink...obviously safety is not our first priority.
I plunged that sucker like a boss and toilet balance has been restored.
Jeez, I just remembered school starts tomorrow and I totally could have picked up a notebook while out. Ugh.
You should probably have your toilet fixed. Usually, maintenance cost are covered by your monthly rent as it is the case with other rentals. I stay at apartments for rent in hattiesburg ms and i get maintenance service. How about you?
